CHICAGO BASED LICENSED MASSAGE THERAPIST
Amanda Flores, LMT
I am licensed massage therapist and wellness expert whose passion stems from my personal healing journey.
heal & flo is an expression of my convictions.
Everybody deserves to heal, rest, and feel peace.
I believe healing is multidisciplinary.
I have lived a life dedicated to learning more about these outlets of self-care.
my passion comes from my own healing journey
Massage showed me the way to my healing journey and started the path that created the person I am today.
reconnecting with my indigenous self
Healing is a process and takes time. Just finding out what healing means to oneself takes time.
My growth as a healer has come with understanding my ancestral history and cultural identity. I come from ancestors of curanderas Native to the borderlands of Texas. I grew up around native and Mexican indigenous practices of healing. When I reached a certain age I lost touch with my native self in the process of survival.
Massage therapy has helped remind and support me of my roots as a healer. I honor my native self by continuing the work of my ancestors.
Through the years I have gained knowledge of a western medicinal approach of body work and eastern indigenous practices to incorporate into my approach.
radical self care
Over the years my understanding of what self-care means has changed. I have replaced bad habits with habits that nurture my well-being.
The process of nurturing my inner child and my current self through various outlets of healing has been the greatest adventure.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to share this knowledge with my clients.
I look forward to meeting you and walking alongside in your personal healing journey.
trauma informed massage therapy
I am a trauma survivor.
I have healed through love and kindness from myself and my ancestors.
I believe the universe is more magical than we are told and that everything is connected.
I have gone through a long journey of healing and growth. In this journey of finding self-love and connecting to my roots, I have found my path.
Our body holds so much more than knots.
Living with C-PTSD has given me eyes to see what others may not understand.
Trauma is complex and can live deep in our bodies for years. We hold that tension with us through the aches and pains.
Trauma can come from childhood, living with a bad relationship, accidents, losing a loved one, or an abusive job.
Sometimes injuries, such as from a car accident or sports injury can damage our bodies for a lifetime.
When experiencing trauma our body goes into fight or flight mode.
That tension can stay in muscles and joints for years following the event.
healing the body, mind, and spirit
I am passionate about helping others in their healing journey.
I am here to remind you that you deserve to heal, rest, and feel peace.
I aim to create a safe space for folx to feel comfortable, relax, and reset.
My journey with massage therapy began 10 years ago.
I have worked in a variety of settings including chiropractic offices, athletic centers, and spas.
I have learned from many healers who have shown me different healing perspectives.
In the process of healing and bodywork, I have found inner peace, community, knowledge, and sobriety.
personalized massage therapy for each individuals healing journey
My healing journey informs everything I do.
I believe everybody is unique and deserves special attention.
I focus on creating individualized treatment plans specific to a client's needs.
